Jan 01, 2011 Sole, 1999a, Sole, 1999b, Sole et al., 1999 studied titanium solvent extraction systematically. After conducting a large number of screening tests using different extractants for titanium extraction from sulphuric acid medium, TOPO (tri-octyl phosphine oxide) was confirmed to be the most suitable reagent.
Jan 01, 1999 Solvent extraction is one of the techniques being used for the recovery of titanium from waste solutions in TiO 2 production 1, 2. In this work, the possibility of extracting titanium from synthetic chloride solutions has been investigated. Many reagents have been used for the extraction of titanium(IV) from acidic chloride solutions.
Titanium metal values may be recovered from a titanium bearing source such as an ilmenite ore by subjecting the source to a reductive roast and leaching the reduced source with a halogen containing compound such as hydrochloric acid. The soluble titanium halide is then extracted from the leach liquor by utilizing an organophosphoric acid such as mono-2-ethylhexylphosphoric acid.
The solvent extraction of titanium, niobium and tantalum thiocyanates is studied in detail. The effect of the variables (solvent, concentration of thiocyanate, acidity, etc.) is discussed. There is evidence for the existence of a thiocyanate complex of tantalum.
Leaching and solvent extraction of total iron and titanium has been studied. A detailed investigation on quantitative leaching of the mineral and separation by solvent extraction were also carried out. The effect of some parameters such as acid concentrations and temperature has been investigated. Experimental results indicate that the dissolution rate is by diffusion control. With 2.0M HCl

Solvent extraction is a commonly used metal-ion separation process, usually favored because of its sim- titanium, zirconium, tin, REE, thorium, uranium and alkali-earth metals in variable ratios [17]. The most important mineral sources of niobium and tantalum may be classified as: (i) Tantalo-niobates-salts of niobic and tantalic acids
Apr 01, 2011 During solvent extraction or resin adsorption, anionic ions of mineral acid such as H S O 4 −, C l −, N O 3 − and C l O 4 − are often present in the extracted compounds, suggesting the possible formation of mixed complexes of fluoro-bisulphate or fluoro-chloride and so on (Varga et al., 1965, Caletka et al., 1989). The fluoro-sulphate

Jul 09, 2018 In this study, TiO2 nanoparticles have been obtained from low-grade ilmenite ore via two consecutive acid digestion and solvent extraction processes. The as-extracted TiO2 (Anatase phase) product was characterized using techniques such as XRD, XRF, FESEM, FTIR and BET surface area. Diluted sulfuric acid and D2EHPA (bis-(2-ethyl-hexyl) phosphoric acid) were used as digester agent
The potential of these reagents as extractants for the separation and recovery of vanadium(V) from the waste chloride liquors of the titanium mineral processing industry has also been assessed. Abstract: A method for processing a froth treatment tailings separated from a bitumen froth produced in a process for recovering bitumen from oil sand ore, includes subjecting the froth treatment tailings to a first solvent extraction process to produce a first extract including bitumen, and a first raffinate, subjecting the first raffinate to a separation process to produce a fine mineral
and 50 hours, respectively. From the leach solution the counter-current solvent extraction of iron and titanium was completed. Extraction and stripping efficiencies of the iron circuit were calculated to be 99.9% and 99.8%, respectively. Extraction and stripping of the titanium circuit were determined to be 99.6% and 99.9%, respectively.

Feb 01, 2017 Description of the Solvent Extraction Process. Solvent extraction (SX) is applicable in any instance where it is desirable to selectively remove or extract a species from one solution into another. This can apply either to the removal of a valuable component from contaminants or to the removal of contaminants from the valuable component.
Mar 21, 2018 Titanium Corp. has spent $80 million on research and received an additional $18 million in government funding as it ran pilot projects at several oilsands facilities. It plans to spend 2018
New Solvent Extraction Techniques for Uranium Purification This paper reviews several new applications of solvent extraction developed in conjunction with a research project carried out under the AEC Raw Materials Division by the Dow Western Division laboratories during the last two years.
extraction of just 18% (Matjie et al., 2005). In contrast CFA pelletized with fine coal and lime and calcined then leached with sulphuric acid yielded an 85% recovery. Three extraction methods were compared: selective pH precipitation, crystallization, and solvent extraction. The only viable method was found to be solvent extraction

The method of using the difference in the solubility of each component in the sample in a specific solvent to make it completely or partially separated is the solvent extraction method. Commonly used inorganic solvents are water, dilute acid, dilute alkali; organic solvents are ethanol, ether, chloroform, acetone, petroleum ether, etc.
While the extraction according to this invention may be carried out from any aqueous salt solution, it is preferred to use solutions containing free mineral acid. Hydrochloric acid and in particular nitric acid are sultable in a concentration ranging from 0.1 to 7 normal. The higher acid concentration results in higher extraction values.
The solvent most commonly used is hexane, a toxic substance, that must be recovered to the greatest extent possible for reasons of operating economics, environmental responsibility and general safety. The basic processing principle To prepare an oil seed for solvent extraction, a series of operations are carried out to expose the part of the
A method for isolating scandium values is provided. The method includes extracting scandium values from a leachate with an organic solvent, thereby obtaining a scandium-loaded organic solvent, wherein the leachate contains iron and scandium ions, and wherein the organic solvent contains a primary amine. The scandium values are then stripped from the scandium-loaded solvent with a stripping
1 天前 Liquid-liquid extraction (solvent extraction) technology is defined as a process for the extraction and separation of HREEs in industrial scale. However, problems such as loss of extractants into the aqueous phase, poor contact area between the two phases and formation of the third phase still occur in large scale processes.
